Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a role in hundreds of functions in the body. While we consume it on a daily basis through the foods we eat and supplements we take, many researchers started to question whether it could be used as a transdermal product for the skin.

Lastly, a study found in the Journal of Integrative Medicine directed patients with fibromyalgia to spray a transdermal magnesium application onto each limb — since most people with fibromyalgia have a deficiency in magnesium. The patients reported less pain and symptoms, which matched the researchers’ theory. 

Although one of the skin’s primary functions is acting as a barrier for outside toxins, it has a strange way of letting in the positive things.
